Sheikh Ul-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah - Enjoining The Good And Forbidding The Evil by Dr. Saleh As Saleh.Taqi ad-Din Ahmad ibn Taymiyyah (January 22, 1263 – 1328), full name: Taqī ad-Dīn Abu l-ʿAbbās Ahmad ibn Abd al-Ḥalīm ibn ʿAbd as-Salām Ibn Taymiya al-Ḥarrānī (Arabic: تقي الدين أبو العباس أحمد بن عبد السلام بن عبد الله ابن تيمية الحراني), was a famous Muslim scholar born in Harran, located in what is now Turkey, close to the Syrian border. He lived during the troubled times of the Mongol invasions. As a member of the school founded by Ibn Hanbal, he sought the return of Islam to its sources, the Qur an and the Sunnah.
Extremism is usually contrasted with moderation, and extremists with moderates. Shaikh Abdullah El Faisal was born in 1963 and raised in Jamaica. He embraced Islam at the age of 16. He studied Arabic and Islamic studies for one year in Guyana, South America and then went on for further studies at the Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. There, he studied for eight years and graduated in 1991. Among his Shaikhs are: Abdul-Hakim Quick, Abdullah Tuwayjiree, Abdul-Wahab Tarairi, Shaikh Ibn Jibreen and Naasir Umar.
